Actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Fatima Sana Shaikh have become the latest celebrities to show concern for her health, urging authorities to discuss the situation before it happens. While Sonakshi shared an emotional video message, Fatima took to Instagram with a heartfelt plea, with the actress stressing the importance of listening to Wangchuk’s wishes rather than letting her health deteriorate.

Sonakshi Sinha says she couldn’t keep quiet anymore

Breaking his silence on the issue, the ‘Dabangg’ actor said he felt compelled to speak out after seeing Wangchuk continue his fast.“I have never given words like this, but today we cannot ignore him. We know what he has done for our country, what he has done well and how many awards he has received. “Talking about the prolonged fast, Sonakshi added, “She is hungry. She hasn’t eaten anything. Echoing the same concerns, ‘Dangal’ actress Fatima Sana Shaikh urged the authorities to respond to Wangchuk’s illness before it happened.Sharing pictures of the protester on Instagram, he wrote, “It’s been 19 days now! We can’t wait until it’s over to start listening… Someone like Sonam Wangchuk, who has given so much to this country, shouldn’t risk her health to listen.”Fatima also urged people not to think about political differences but to think about the future of students.“Regardless of your politics, the future of a student must be protected. It is very sad to see someone like him get worse like this. I hope this will end with a conversation, not us losing Sonam Wangchuk! Today’s youth will move this country forward. Imran Khan also wants to answer

Actor Imran Khan has also offered support to students affected by the alleged NEET-UG controversy saying the issue is going beyond politics. In the Instagram carousel posts, he said that the students should have the same loyalty from the examiners that is expected of them in the exams. “This is not a political debate… or at least, it shouldn’t be,” he wrote. Seeking accountability, Imran added, “If we expect students to write exams honestly, then they also have the same responsibility.He concluded by expressing solidarity with the students, writing, “I see…it is my honor to stand by your side.”

Aditi Rao Hydari also adds support

Meanwhile, Aditi Rao Hydari also supported Sonam Wangchuk by sharing her post on Instagram Stories and wrote, “Political differences make the politics of the country. Humanity makes its character. This life is precious 🙏🧿🙏 #sonamwangchuk,” encouraging compassion amid the ongoing protests.

Sonakshi and Fatima are among several entertainers who have expressed concern for Wangchuk’s health. Earlier, Zeenat Aman, Shabana Azmi, Soni Razdan, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Abhay Deol, Prakash Raj, Anurag Kashyap, Swara Bhasker, Omi Vaidya, Gauahar Khan, Raghav Juyal, Rakhi Sawant and Munawar Faruquie also extended their support.Zeenat Aman had earlier written, “My thoughts today are in the capital where the @wangchuksworld world is entering its 17th day of hunger strike… Don’t ask me to finish my fast. Wangchuk is urging his followers to join the peaceful march

Although worried about his illness, Wangchuk urged his followers to focus on the bigger cause instead of asking him to end the fast. “I’m not good but I’m not too bad… Instead of asking me to stop eating please join me on 20th July… Peaceful March to Parliament,” he said in a recent video message.Mr Wangchuk has been on a prolonged hunger strike as part of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests, demanding answers to the alleged NEET-UG 2026 leak and other exam-related irregularities. A peaceful march to Parliament has been announced on 20 July.
