The story follows the father as he fights to restore his son’s dignity and challenge the stigma attached to the incident.“The story was about a boy who was caught masturbating, and the video of the incident went viral, which made his life miserable. His father was a tour guide at the Khajuraho temple. Amit decided to make him a part-time priest at the Mahakal Temple. I told Amit that I can’t fight him; he is my friend. If that’s what he chooses, I wish him the best. I repeatedly told them not to make a permit because it was not one. But he kept going,” he said.He also said that Akshay later asked him to act in the film, but he refused because he no longer realized that it was a story he had contributed to. “I spoke to Akshay. He asked me to do the film. I told him, ‘No. This is not the film I had in mind. There is no role of God in this story.’ He tried to convince me, but I had the script from the beginning. I knew exactly what it was supposed to be. That’s why I left,” said Paresh.The role of the father eventually went to Pankaj Tripathi, while Akshay Kumar appeared as “Shiv ka Doot”.Paresh said his biggest disappointment was not being appreciated for his contribution to the original proposal. “The saddest thing is that I was not given credit for the story or the idea. My name was not mentioned anywhere,” he said.He added that several prominent names in the industry know that the idea came from him. “Amit, Akshay, Ashwin, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar and Salman Khan… they all know that it was my idea and my story. Ajay and Salman probably said no to the subject. They thought it might be controversial. I tried to explain the idea to them,” he said.
