Rawal entered politics in 2014 as a BJP MP from Ahmedabad East. After serving one term, he decided not to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. During those years, his film appearances were few and far between, leading many to believe that politics had affected his acting career.However, Rawal rejected that idea. He said, “Politics did not really help in reducing the number of films I did. The number is less because I refused to do it. I use the word ‘refusal’ and not ‘refusal.’ He also explained that organizing the Parliament and films was not difficult.Even when I was a politician, I had enough time to do films. Parliament works for about 110 days a year. I still had about 265 days. I even reduced my theater performances. Rawal also shed some light on what happened on ‘102 Not Out’, revealing that he was involved in the role he eventually played.
