‘My parents believe in me’: Jason Sanjay opens up about choosing cinema and finding his path | Tamil Movie News
Actor is CM Vijayson of Jason Sanjay all set to appear as a filmmaker with his first documentary ‘Sigma’. Although expectations are high for the film, the young director says his passion for films did not start overnight. Growing up in a film family gave him plenty of opportunities to visit filming locations and watch movies around the world. Over time, he became more interested in storytelling, dramaturgy, and how ideas are conveyed through film. This growing interest eventually turned into a desire to make his own films.
Jason Sanjay reveals his family’s support
Talking about his decision to do a movie with Cinema Vikatan, Jason Sanjay revealed that his family’s support gave him the confidence to go ahead. “I told my parents, my sister, and my friends that I wanted to go into cinema. Everyone responded well, and this became a great source of strength for me. That’s when I realized how much faith they had in me. When ‘Sigma’ started, “I told my parents, my sister, and my friends that I want to go into movies. Vijay Sethupathi sir, Sorry Sir, and many others wished me well. “Many people blessed me, and that encouragement meant a lot,” he said. He also recalled the time when he was studying film making in Canada. “When I was studying filmmaking in Canada, I wrote a 120-page script. I couldn’t make it into a part at the time, so I changed it to a 20-minute short film to understand what I can do as a director,” he added.
The script that gradually became ‘Sigma’
Jason explained that the path to his first film was built through patience and learning. “When I came back to India, I worked on two or three story ideas. I shared my favorite ideas with my friends and people from the industry. I changed the bad points they showed and added good ones. Through my uncle Sanjeev, I met the producer Tamil Kumaran, sir. I just wanted to know how to tell a story to a producer, but he liked the script. Later, I met Subaskaran sir, and he liked it too. That’s how the story became ‘Sigma,'” he said.
Jason Sanjay focuses on ‘Sigma’
Although he doubts whether he will do anything in the future, Jason says his goal is to establish himself as a filmmaker. “I didn’t appear in the promo song because I wanted to be an actress. It was just to introduce the film and its title. At the moment, I am responsible for releasing ‘Sigma’ successfully, and that is where my focus is. After the release of the film, I will decide whether to act or continue to direct. Every director has an actor in him, and so do I. But it all depends on what happens after ‘Sigma.’ “I also have two or three points in my mind, and I will start working on them when the film is released,” he said.
