2027 Kawasaki KLX230 series motorcycle launched in India: Price, specifications

Kawasaki India has updated the KLX 230 series motorcycles in the Indian market for the 2027 model year. The company has also launched a new KLX230 S variant. With the new additions, the KLX230 range now includes three models: the standard KLX230, the new KLX230 S and the off-road-specific KLX230R S. Interested customers can book the updated motorcycles online or visit their nearest dealership. The KLX 230 will continue to be available in two color options – Lime Green and Battle Grey.

Kawasaki KLX 230R S

The KLX230R S is currently priced at Rs 1.89 lakh, while both the KLX230 and the newly launched KLX230 S retail at Rs 2.19 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The price of the standard KLX230 has increased significantly from Rs 1.84 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh, while the KLX230R S is now Rs 10,000 more expensive than before. Deliveries of the KLX230R S are scheduled to begin in mid-August 2026, and the KLX230 and KLX230 S will be delivered to customers in mid-September.The newly launched KLX230 S shares the engine and mechanical package with the standard KLX230, but has a lower seat height. Its seat height is 830 mm, 50 mm lower than the standard model’s 880 mm. To achieve this, Kawasaki shortened the front suspension travel to 160mm and the rear suspension travel to 163mm, compared to the KLX230’s suspension travel of 220mm and 223mm respectively. Ground clearance has also been reduced from 255mm to 220mm.

2027 Kawasaki 230

The KLX230R S is positioned as the most off-road focused model in the range, omitting road legal equipment such as headlights in favor of a more off-road focused setup. It has a seat height of up to 900 mm and a ground clearance of 270 mm. Powering the entire 2027 KLX230 range is a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that produces 19 hp at 7,800 rpm and 19 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm. All three engine variants are paired with a six-speed transmission.
