Toyota Hilux facelift preview: design and cab expected to be updated
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has released the first teaser of the upcoming Hilux facelift ahead of its India debut on July 28, 2026. While the brief teaser doesn’t show off the truck in its entirety, it does give us a glimpse of the redesigned front fascia.The teaser shows the new Hilux with a larger front grille flanked by slimmer LED headlights. “TOYOTA” lettering on the grille replaces the traditional Toyota logo. The new model is also expected to feature a redesigned front bumper with skid plate, new alloy wheel design and updated taillights with C-shaped LED lighting elements.Inside, the cabin is likely to get significant upgrades in terms of technology and perceived quality. The new Hilux is expected to feature dual 12.3-inch displays, including a fully digital dashboard and a touchscreen infotainment system. Other expected additions include a new three-spoke steering wheel, an all-black interior theme, ventilated and power front seats, wireless phone charging, connected car technology and 360-degree cameras. Toyota is also expected to retain physical controls over climate settings and off-road features.Under the hood, the pickup is expected to continue to be powered by the familiar 2.8-liter diesel engine producing around 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic. Safety is expected to be improved with a more comprehensive ADAS suite, which may include features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking. Standard safety equipment is also expected to include six airbags, electronic stability control and hill-start assist.
