Honda’s new QC3 electric scooter: 145km range, key features and more

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has expanded its electric two-wheeler portfolio with the launch of the new QC3 electric scooter. The new model becomes the company’s third electric scooter for the Indian market after Activa e: and QC1. The Honda QC3 is powered by a 3 kWh battery pack and hub-mounted electric motors. The company claims a maximum driving range of 145 kilometers on a full charge. The battery can be charged from 0% to 80% in 2 hours and 40 minutes, while a full charge takes about 4 hours. Among Honda’s electric vehicle series, QC3 is superior to QC1 in terms of range and equipment.The company is expected to announce its launch timeline and pricing closer to launch.Design-wise, the QC3 has a clean, modern look that’s suitable for everyday use. The front apron houses the headlights and turn indicators, as well as LED daytime running lights. It also comes with a flat floor and a long one-piece seat.The scooter comes with a TFT instrument display and supports Honda RoadSync connectivity and route navigation. Hardware-wise, the QC3 rides on alloy wheels and comes with telescopic front forks, dual rear shock absorbers and front disc brakes.Honda currently retails the QC1 and Activa e: in India, although both models are only available in select cities as the company gradually expands its electric vehicle network. The QC1 uses a fixed 1.5 kWh battery pack and is said to have an IDC-certified range of 80 kilometers and a top speed of 50 kilometers per hour.The Activa e:, on the other hand, is priced starting at Rs 1.20 lakh and uses two replaceable 1.5 kWh battery packs for a total capacity of 3 kWh. The IDC-certified cruising range is said to be 102 kilometers.
