‘He wanted me to join IAS or IFS’: Archana Puran Singh remembers being a huge fan of the teacher and how ‘disappointed’ he was when he decided to join the civil service.

Before the release of Prime Video drama ‘Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya’, the actor shared that his academic record led many to believe that he had gone for IAS or IFS. When he decided to take action, he said his teachers were “really upset,” not understanding why he had to walk away from what he saw as a bright and promising future.Reminiscing about her school days, Archana said that she was always at the top of her class and one of her teachers’ favorite students, “I was always first in my class and of course I loved the teachers. My teachers kept saying, ‘You should join IAS or IFS.’ Back then, if you were good at studies, people only thought you could do one job. This is what my teachers expected from me too.”The actress admitted that what she did shocked the people who advised her: “So when I told them that I wanted to be an actress and start acting in movies, they were very disappointed. They didn’t understand why I would give up what they believed was a very good future for them.”Looking back, Archana believes that following her passion was the right decision.“Surprisingly, both teachers loved me and disappointed them. Looking back now, I think it’s a lot of fun. But life has a funny way of doing things.
