Speaking to India Today, the popular director, who is also known for his work in ‘Kaafir’, ‘Tribhanga’, and ‘Maharaj’, to name a few, shared a few details about his upcoming project, ‘Ikka.’ He shared during an interview that one of the easiest parts of the film was assembling the cast. Apart from Khanna and Deol, the film also stars Dia Mirza and Tillotama Shome also.He shared, “Actually, the actors were the easiest part. Everyone I approached for this film said yes on the first visit. To say that it was difficult would be a real lie. It’s the power of the script. The script was very good. Fortunately, they had seen Maharaj. They had seen my work before. They know me because of my father, my work and my trusted grandfather. The filmmaker, and he loved the script. So, everyone went on board “immediately.”He added that one of the most important things he is thinking about at this time is that everyone should respect each other. He added, “One thing no one prepares for is that every actor comes with his own personality and life. It’s not just Sunny Deol or Akshaye Khanna. It’s anyone who walks the stage.”

He also said that he likes to work with old actors, and nothing had to be changed during filming. He added: “There are no other problems. I would only work with actors of that generation. I have always worked with them.” RaniKajol and Kareena—they are the best people to work with.”He also revealed that many veteran actors avoid working with many people at the same time, and that they can blend well in the film. He also said, “They sit with you, they are with you, they discuss events and discuss life,” he said. They give you what you want in one or two. You don’t spend hours shooting. They are skilled professionals because they have been doing this longer than you might think.“As for how he keeps things organized, the director shared that he likes to constantly change things. He shared during the interview that after taking all the pictures needed for the day, the director would change and show all the people who were there. He concluded: “What happened was that he trusted me, there were no fireworks, he did exactly what I wanted because he knew where I was taking the film.”“‘Ikka’ is ready and all set to release on July 10, 2026, and follows a prominent lawyer who is hired to represent a criminal in court. Burdened with saving everything he is about to lose, the lawyer does everything he can to solve the problem before it’s too late.
