Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ registered a huge drop in collections on its second day at the box office after opening with strong buzz. While the film’s earnings fell on Friday, it continued its impressive run and crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India in just two days after its release.According to Sacnilk, ‘Jana Nayagan’ collected Rs 21.15 crore nett in India on Day 2. This figure shows a 50.5 percent drop from its opening day collection of Rs 42.70 crore nett. The total collection of this movie in India now stands at Rs 63.85 crore.
Worldwide crossing the Rs 112 crore mark
On its second day, ‘Jana Nayagan’ collected 10 crore at the international box office.This has taken the film’s overseas collection to Rs 37.50 crore. Meanwhile, its collection in India has reached Rs 75 crore after two days in the theatres.Including domestic and foreign collections, the film has taken its worldwide total to Rs 112.50 crore.
The Tamil version continues to dominate the collections
The Tamil version also contributed the lion’s share of the film’s earnings on Friday as it collected 17.95 crore nett.The Indian version added Rs 1.85 crore nett, while the Telugu version earned Rs 1.35 crore nett on Day 2.The Mamitha Baiju starrer has registered a viewership of 44.33 percent, and the audience is increasing as the day progresses. The morning shows 32.77% occupancy, which rose to 37.23% in the afternoon, 47% in the evening and reached 60.31% during the night game.The Hindi version had 11.48 percent viewership, while the Telugu version recorded 22.77 percent viewership throughout the day.
Tamil Nadu is still the largest market
Tamil Nadu continued to lead the film on Day 2. The state budgeted 15 crores.Karnataka followed with Rs 3.22 crore gross. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 2 crore, while Kerala added Rs 2 crore. All over India it was Rs 2.50 cross.Overall, the film’s collection of Day 2 India stood at Rs 24.72 crore.
