The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards were announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in New Delhi on Saturday, honoring the best achievements in Indian television in feature films, feature films and documentaries. The awards recognize films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1 and December 31, 2024.One of the biggest aspects of this year’s honor was Yami Gautam winning the Best Actress award for her powerful performance in Article 370. The film also emerged as the biggest winner of the event by bagging the prestigious award for Best Feature Film.Sharing the honor of Best Actor was Kartik Aaryan because of his change in Chandu Champion and Mammootty for his iconic role in the Malayalam horror drama Bramayugam.

Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, Article 370 won the coveted Best Feature Film award in addition to earning Yami Gautam the Best Actress trophy. This political entertainer was critically acclaimed upon its release for its storytelling and performance.
Kartik Aaryan, Mammootty share the award for Best Actor
The jury honored two performances in the Best Actor category. Kartik Aaryan was named the Chandu Champion, with critics praising his body transformation and dedication to portraying Paralympian Murlikant Petkar.
