Rickshaw driver’s grandson becomes first person from Bihar to crack NEET UG, advises aspirants to stay consistent

A family who once earned their living as a rickshaw puller is celebrating a milestone that has spread far beyond their family. Aditya, a resident of Ratnauli village in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, secured All India Rank (AIR) 946 and category rank 295 in NEET UG, becoming the first student from his village to qualify in India’s highest medical entrance examination.His achievement has become a moment of collective pride for the entire village. His grandfather Saukhi Sahni earlier earned a living by pulling a rickshaw, while Aditya’s father Harendra Sahni supported the family through a private job. Aditya completed the Bihar Board entrance examination in his village and later secured 87% marks in the RDS College Intermediate examination and then passed the NEET UG examination.One family’s journey inspires an entire villageFor the Sahni family, this achievement represents years of determination and hard work. Saukhi Sahni said his grandson’s success has brought pride not only to his family but to the entire village. He also described Aditya as the topper from north Bihar in NEET UG.According to family members, Aditya’s success encouraged other students in the village to pursue higher education and appear for competitive exams. His father said the family still believes that perseverance will eventually bear fruit.Muzaffarpur has achieved several notable successes in NEET UGAditya’s achievement joins several outstanding performances by other students from the Muzaffarpur district.Sumit Sarraf from Veerpur, Kandi, secured AIR 6013 in the second attempt after combining local and online studies and devoting 10 to 12 hours daily in preparation.Tannu from Dharfari village in Palu scored 587 points. Her father Deveshchandra Prajapati attributes the result to her rigorous preparation. Akash Kumar from Chanpakdi, Saraya scored 608 points in his third attempt with AIR 7,637 and EWS rank 821. His parents thanked his teachers Sahindra Bhagat and Ramchandra Sah for their guidance, while residents and local representatives congratulated him on his achievement.

Divya Chetan from Bisunpur Patti village in Sahebganj, who prepared in the village through self-study and online resources without joining a coaching institute, scored 633 points and secured AIR 3,135 and EWS rank 284. Arya Prakash from Bahria scored AIR 1,701 and scored 646 runs in her first attempt after balancing coaching and self-study and staying away from social media during preparation. Kaustubh from Meenapur also cleared the AIR 11,014 exam after studying at a training center in Muzaffarpur and preparing online.Bihar features prominently in national merit listThe state’s strong performance extends beyond Muzaffarpur. Four candidates from Bihar have made it to the top 100 in the national NEET-UG merit list, TNN reported. Ayush Bhalotia from Nawada emerged as the highest ranked candidate in the state with AIR 4, while Riya Ranjan bagged AIR 6. Ravi Kant Diwakar bagged AIR 55 and Aditya Kumar from Begusarai bagged AIR 73. Aditya Kumar said that despite requiring students to revise the same syllabus, tougher re-examination papers will benefit well-prepared candidates by creating better differentiation, TNN reported. for a longer period of time.
