Ahmed Khan‘s multi-starrer action-comedy ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, directed by a team led by Akshay KumarSuniel Shetty is Paresh Rawalit has given a surprising surprise in the second weekend at the box office. Although it entered the second week in the shadow of YRF’s big-budget ‘Alpha’, starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari and Bobby Deol, the comedy caper has bounced back with consecutive days of growth instead of a slide, continuing to decline which many expected to show that the family audience is still growing.Having already crossed the Rs. 115 crore nett mark by Day 10, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ now looks set to extend its lead in the entire second Week. With the second week extension later, the film is expected to see its usual midweek improvement from Day 11 onwards, and the collections are expected to settle at Rs. 1-3 crore net per day as shows continue to be distributed by ‘Alpha’ and other new releases. If the mid-week movement is over, the film may add Rs. 6-10 crore through the remaining Week 2, pushing its total net to Rs 120-125 crore by the end of its second week.
‘Welcome to the Jungle’ Day 1-10
The opening weekend of the film created a buzz, with a domestic collection of Rs. 63.75 crore with an international revenue of Rs. 93.45 crore, helped by the huge growth which rose on Sunday at Rs. 24.75 million. Monday’s steady improvement followed, bringing collections up to Rs. 8.50 crore, before Tuesday’s surprise 8.8% uptick pushed the number to Rs. 9.25 million. The film blew past its opening weekend, dropping 30% on Wednesday to Rs. 6.15 crore and borrowing over Rs. 5.50 crore on Thursday, closing Week 1 with a domestic net of Rs 93.15 crore. Day 8 took Rs. 4.50 crore nett, marking a drop of 18.2% from Thursday, taking the total Indian nett to Rs 97.65 crore and the international gross to Rs. 143.72 million. Day 9 gave Rs. 7.50 crore nett, a massive growth of 66.7% on day 8, taking the all India nett to Rs. 105.15 crore and international funds to the tune of Rs. 154.14 million. Day 10 produced Rs. 9.75 crore nett, up 30% on Day 9, taking the all-India nett to Rs. 114.90 crore with a worldwide revenue of up to Rs. 166.75 million
‘Welcome to the Jungle’ Latest Collection of Day 11
As Day 11 collections enter, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has crossed 1,660 shows and has added. Rs. 0.83 million net until now.This makes the total income of India approx Rs. 137.78 million and all that has been collected from around India Rs. 115.73 millionand the final numbers for Day 11 are still pending.
