‘We are not holding him hostage’: Father, Shashank Singh breaks silence after FIR against him Cricket News
New Delhi: Kings XI Punjab cricketer Shashank Singh A home cook has broken his silence by registering an FIR against him, his father Shailesh Singh and their driver after he accused him of assaulting, abusing and forcibly taking away his mobile phone.According to an IANS report, the Latibad police in Bhopal has registered a case under Sections 296 (B), 115 (2) and 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police have launched an investigation into the allegations. The complainant, Vipendra Singh Tomar, a resident of Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, told the police that he was working as a cook at the Nirbad Singh family’s bungalow on June 25. He claimed that the company promised him a monthly salary of Rs 15,000, as well as food and accommodation.Responding to the allegations, Shashank denied that he or his family members beat or held the complainant against his will.“No, we are not holding him hostage,” Shashank told ANI.“Indeed, he claimed to be a chef when he came, but he was not a chef at all. He couldn’t cook. He just came to have fun, take videos, take photos, and even enter my room. Since he did such a thing, I suspect he came with the intention of stealing. We are lucky. Judging from the current inspection, nothing was stolen.”The Kings XI Punjab batsman also explained why the complainant’s mobile phone was taken away.“Indeed, he had videos and photos of the house on his phone, so my mum asked him to delete them because they were very personal.”Shashank further claimed that the police have not contacted him so far and said they considered calling the police themselves.“So far, the police have not contacted us. When we found out he was taking photos and videos, my sister suggested calling 100. But he pleaded and I let him go.”Shashank denied the accusations of assault and abuse, saying:“It’s possible that someone would make such an allegation against me. I’m sure anyone who knows me knows that a physical altercation is completely out of the question for me. I’m not even willing to use abusive language, so of course I can’t do something like that. I don’t think I need to provide any justification for this. “According to the FIR, Tomar claimed that he agreed to work at the residence after being guaranteed salary, food and accommodation.“I agreed to work there and stay at the residence after being guaranteed wages, food and accommodation,” Tomar said in the complaint.Tomar claims he was later told his work was flawed and his phone was taken away. The incident escalated on June 28 when he asked for the phone to be returned, according to the complaint.“After preparing breakfast, I asked Shailesh Singh to return my phone but he refused. I felt upset about this and went back to my room,” Tomar claimed. He further alleged that Shailesh Singh, Shashank Singh and their driver entered his room and attacked him.“They abused me and started attacking me with their hands and fists. After beating me, they kicked me out of the house,” Tomar said in his statement to the police. The complainant also claimed that Rs 1,000 was transferred from his mobile phone, which the accused claimed was used to deduct food and accommodation expenses. The matter is currently under police investigation.
