New Delhi: this Board of Control for Cricket in IndiaThe (BCCI) Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru is buzzing with activity as the facility prepares to welcome an influx of signings and target players in the coming week.TimesofIndia.com has learned that nearly a dozen Indian cricketers are likely to come to the facility by the end of the week due to various reasons. And players such as Hardik Pandya and Nitish Kumar Reddy, Varun ChakravartyHarshit Rana and Akash Deep are already there and they will join washington sundar and some others.It is understood players wishing to take part in the Tests have been asked to report for fitness assessment ahead of next month’s tour of Sri Lanka. Mohammed Siraj is expected to arrive at the facility this week and is likely to be joined by Ravindra Jadeja. Target players like Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan and Abhishek Porel have already been assessed and the CoE staff expects more assessments in the coming days before the players take part in the Duleep Trophy for their respective regional teams.“Hardik has been training there, Reddy is recuperating and Varun and Harshit are undergoing rehab. The team management does not want to give any chance to the players before the Test series in Sri Lanka. A thorough evaluation will be done and the selectors will be informed of their status before the team is selected for the two Tests. After the red-ball tournament in Bengaluru, the CoE has a rough idea of the target players,” said a source tracking the developments.“The domestic season starts next month so even the players who are targeted will need to be assessed as there won’t be much time once the games start,” the source added.According to a report on this website on July 21, the Indian team is working hard to solve physical problems during preparations for the 2027 World Cup.
