Marvel Studios’ ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ kicked off its box office campaign in spectacular fashion, with tickets for the Infinity Vision preview screening selling out within hours of going on sale on Monday, July 20.Tickets for the next big movie “Avengers” were sold out, five months before its release on December 18. Several box office fans reported that the movie has already started selling “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” in some places and won the tickets of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” in less than two hours. In response to the hype surrounding the film, theaters are said to have added screenings at 3 pm to achieve 80% occupancy.

The release of the first tickets is limited to the halls of Infinity Vision – Disney’s new license for large-screen theaters that offer the best visuals, light and sound. The move is part of Marvel’s strategy to secure high-profile screens ahead of its theatrical clash with ‘Dune: The Third Edition’ which has reportedly secured a three-week IMAX window.

Fans took to social media throughout the day to share photos of sold-out games and long lines as they scramble to get seats to watch opening night and the weekend.Several fans reported that getting tickets for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ was harder to find than recent movies like Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and ‘Dune: Part Three’. However, Marvel Studios has not released any corporate information.

Following the release of the ‘Doomsday’ trailer, fans took to social media to share their reactions to the upcoming ‘Dune’ sequel on December 18.While ‘Dune’, directed by Denis Villeneuve, has grossed $1.12 billion worldwide in two films, ‘Avengers’ is one of the highest-grossing films of all time, having grossed more than $7.8 billion worldwide in four films. ‘Doomsday’ also comes after the huge success of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which is the highest-grossing film in the industry, bringing in 2.79 billion dollars worldwide.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, “Avengers: Doomsday” will have a running time of approximately 165 minutes, making it one of the longest MCU films. According to reports, it is the second longest movie, behind ‘Avengers: Endgame’ which is supposed to be extended by 7 minutes for the re-release called ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’.The film also stars Robert Downey Jr. Returning to the MCU, this time he portrays Doctor Doom, and it becomes the first part of the last two Marvel movies in the Multiverse Saga.
