‘Satluj’ is facing new challenges amid the ongoing controversy, as the film has been pulled from OTT platforms across the world. According to the latest reports shared on the Internet, the film was released without the approval under the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification), and is now being reviewed by the Inter-Departmental Committee.
Center to stop release of ‘Satluj’ till further notice
Despite the pushback, the capital is holding off on issuing ‘Satluj’ for now. Mid Day reported that the Inter-Departmental Committee is reviewing the film under its Information Technology Rules. It will remain on OTT platforms worldwide until the commission announces the final decision of its review.A quote from the report says, “The idea is to keep one place around the world where the work is done because of the interest of the story. This does not mean that it is a permanent decision. Everyone is waiting for what the committee will see before making a decision. “
A petition was filed against ‘Satluj’ after it was screened in Jammu and Punjab
In the last few days, the latest ‘Satluj’ models were tested in the districts of Jammu and Punjab after they were excluded from ZEE5. Amid the ongoing controversy over the film, a lawyer has shared online that he has filed a motion against the film. Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Rampal’s film.Advocate Vineet Jindal wrote, “With the petition of this Letter before the Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, I want to take appropriate action against the people, religious organizations, and political parties involved in planning to watch this film against the law. Such surveillance is said to be used to incite violence and spread hatred against the community and security agencies.He also urged the authorities to take action and issue FIRS to those showing the film because it is not allowed to show a film that has not been approved for release. He added: “This violation of law is seriously disturbing the peace, order and peace in the state of Punjab.“
