In a recent interview, the ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ actor shed light on what it takes to make it to Hollywood, stressing that actors can’t stay in India and hope to land international roles without going through the complexities of international research, talent, and visas. Disha also fondly reminisced about her filming with Spacey, praising his unique style of directing the show and the early morning conversation.

Speaking to Variety India, Disha said, “He (Kevin Spacey) is amazing. Being an actor, he understands his actors. He is one of the best actors in the world. He gives his actors a lot of space to experiment. He can tell us to draw from our own experiences. We are encouraged to think about questions like ‘What would you do in a situation like this?’ ‘Can you cry?’ ‘How would you feel?’ ‘How would you feel?’ Every morning, he stayed with us and took us to the places. I thought this was very special. I don’t think I’ve ever done that with any of the producers before. It is also like taking the responsibility to understand the person better and explain it to them.

The actor also talked about his journey to Hollywood, highlighting how things like representation, availability, auditions, and other things like visas have a big impact on the job. He said, “A lot depends on availability. The West is focused on accounting templates. You have to research things. It depends on how you get what’s available to you and who you’re signed to. Destiny also plays a role. Sometimes, they just end up seeing your work and giving you projects and auditions. It also depends on visa and other things. It’s all very technical. It’s another world at the end of the day. But you have to be there. You can’t sit here and play roles there. You can try from here, but it’s better to go there, stay a little, and work. It is the same with every country.”

Directed by Kevin Spacey and written by Sergey Torchilin and Lado Okhotnikov, ‘Holiguards Saga – The Portal of Force’ is a spiritual thriller. The star cast includes Spacey himself, along with Dolph Lundgren, Tyrese Gibson, Brianna Hildebrand, Disha Patani, and Eric Roberts. The film had a secret screening in Berlin earlier this year in February, although a worldwide release date is expected.
