Saif Ali Khan regrets Kartavya climax, ADMITS, ‘A villain has to face consequences’ | Hindi Movie News
When Saif Ali Khan he cannot always guarantee box office success, he is known as a reliable person whose presence elevates a film. That said, his recent releases, ‘Kartavya’ and ‘Jewel Thief’, have not been a hit with the audience, both falling short of audience expectations. Saif recently spoke about this in an interview, admitting his disappointment with projects like ‘Kartavya’ and ‘Devara’, and realizing that some decisions, which were never made, could have made a big difference in how these films turned out.
Saif Ali Khan says every film should be read
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor said, “I think I am lucky to have done films like ‘Omkara’ and ‘Kartavya. I think I should attract more films of this kind, and I want to continue my career. When I look back, over the last few years, you realize that you survive as an actor. Someone pays you, and that’s good. I did Devara. I thought it would take two months because the part and the pace sounded interesting, but it took longer. Suddenly, you’ve spent almost a year in one film. Yes, you got paid, and maybe it affected the education of one child or taking care of other responsibilities, but where is the film that makes all of this worthwhile? Every film should be read. I keep asking myself, ‘Why am I doing this? I’m at a point where I want every next movie to be important. “
Saif Ali Khan opens up about Kartavya’s rushed release and the unfinished ending
Regarding ‘Kartavya’, Saif said, “Kartavya is lucky that Red Chillies gave it to Netflix because it was actually completed three years ago. If it had been released when it was made, it would have been fresh. We also discussed the final changes. I remember writing about it because we all felt that the villain should face the consequences and be arrested.” If we had pushed a little harder, it would have been possible. But for some reason, this happens and we let it go. “
Saif Ali Khan admits that no one insisted on this change
Saif expressed his regret for the film, saying, “Looking back, everyone saw it, but no one insisted that the change was necessary. Almost all the responses I got from my friends and well-wishers were that they liked the film, but felt that the villain deserved to be punished. Maybe that’s Pulkit’s point. It’s true.”
Saif Ali Khan’s runaway screen star
Saurabh Dwivedi took the role of the main villain in the film. Despite this, the ending saw the character of Saif Ali Khan avenging the death of his brother and sister-in-law by killing his own father, who had caused it. In particular, the central antagonist left without facing any consequences when the film ended.
