Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approves landmark restructure pakistan super league (PSL), granting full administrative and financial autonomy to the country’s premier T20 tournament, as part of a series of key decisions taken during the 84th meeting of the PCB Board of Governors (BoG) in Lahore on Monday.The move, which was unanimously approved at a meeting chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, marks a major shift in the governance of the PSL, which has been directly managed by the PCB since its inception in 2016, PTI reported.

PSL 12 budget approved in financial restructuring

The decision comes after months of discussions about the league’s financial structure and governance. Despite approving the PSL’s autonomy, the PCB is yet to publicly release the league’s audited financial reports for the last two terms. The board also approved the budget for the 12th edition of PSL while clearing the surplus budget for the financial year 2026-27. However, the PCB did not disclose the complete financial details of the new budget.Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza briefed members in detail on the board’s financial position and budget allocations for the next financial year. In order to give a major boost to the development of Pakistan’s domestic cricket structure, the PCB has increased the domestic cricket budget by Rs 1 billion, taking the total allocation from Rs 3 billion to Rs 4 billion.The board also announced a significant increase in player pay. Match fees for players participating in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy have more than tripled from Rs 30,000 to Rs 100,000 per match, while reserve team players will now receive Rs 50,000, up from Rs 15,000 per match.

Rs 6.7 billion allocated for construction of stadium

The board also approved allocations for organizing women’s ODI and T20 tournaments, making 12 additional cricket pitches operational, providing resources for human resource improvement and fixing the minimum wage for district ground staff at Rs 42,000.An allocation of Rs 6.7 billion was also approved for upgrading infrastructure, including the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.
