Nissan Tekton launched in India: Price list, Duster changes and more

Nissan India finally launched the new Nissan Tekton SUV in the Indian market today. The new Tekton shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be produced at Renault’s plant in Tamil Nadu. Interested customers can book online or visit their nearest dealership for Rs 21,000, with deliveries starting from July 20. This SUV will compete with mid-size SUVs such as Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Volkswagen Taigun in the Indian market.

Pricing of different versions of Tekton

The new Nissan Tekton is available in six variants: Visia, Visia plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna plus, priced from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.59 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). It is offered in two engine options – 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 100 hp and 166 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only. The other engine option is a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine developing 163bhp, 280Nm and mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).In terms of design, the 2026 Nissan Tekton draws design inspiration from the Patrol, resulting in a more upright appearance than the Renault Duster. At the front, it features a wide grille with twin chrome slats, slim LED headlights and full-width C-shaped LED daytime running lights. There’s a thin red trim below the headlights, and there’s a distinct crease and Tekton lettering on the bonnet. The front bumper features a two-tone finish, LED fog lights, and silver faux skid plate.

At the side, the Tekton retains the basic silhouette of the Duster but is distinguished by newly designed 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, flared wheel arches and silver inserts on the front doors. It uses traditional front door handles, while the rear door handles are integrated into the C-pillar. Moving to the rear, unlike the Duster, the tailgate is body-coloured rather than a contrasting black panel. It also features C-shaped LED taillights connected by a full-width light bar, a roof-mounted spoiler and an upright tailgate with Tekton lettering. The two-tone rear bumper includes a silver skid plate.In terms of interior, the overall layout is the same as that of the Duster, but it uses a rose gold and burgundy two-tone dashboard. Features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital driver display, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, power tailgate, 6-way adjustable ventilated front seats, and more. Safety features include six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree cameras, front and rear sensors, electronic parking brake, and it also received a 5-star safety rating from BNCAP.
