At the 72nd National Film Awards, the Best Actor award was shared by Mammootty for ‘Bramayugam’ and Kartik Aaryan for ‘Chandu Champion’. Meanwhile, Yami Gautam won the Best Actress award for her performance in ‘Article 370’.The awards recognized the films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in the year 2024. The winners were selected by an 11-member panel of film judges headed by filmmaker Jayaraj after reviewing entries from across the country.
A top honor at the 72nd National Film Awards
A number of films and artists were successful at this year’s event. ‘Article 370’ won the Best Feature Film award, while Rajkumar Periasamy was nominated for Best Director for ‘Amaran’.The award for Most Popular Film for Best Entertainment went to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.
Regional films shine with great success
Regional films also enjoyed success in competitions. ‘Feminichi Fathima’ was nominated for Best Malayalam Film, while ‘Raayan’ won the Best Tamil Film award. In other categories, ‘Committee Kurrolu’ won the award for Best Telugu Film, and ‘Srikanth’ was nominated for Best Hindi Film.
