Inside Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ filming location
Christopher Nolan has built his entire career on the belief that the real world is more cinematic than anything on screen, and ‘The Odyssey’ captures that philosophy more than any film he’s ever made. Shooting in six different worlds with big-screen cameras and no green screens, Nolan took Homer’s past and found his living and waiting place in the real world. At CinemaCon in April, he described the scene as “an absolute nightmare of a movie, but in all the right ways,” adding, “We went all over the world to make this movie because this is The Odyssey. You’ll be glad to hear how difficult it was for us because it had to be difficult. That’s the nature of the story.” Here are all the major places he visited.
