The show will revolve around the holders of 12 golden tickets, who will be accompanied by their friends, and travel through the game after entering Wonka’s Chocolate Factory to determine the ultimate winner. Wilder, said in a statement on behalf of the Gene Wilder Estate: “More than fifty years since Gene brought Willy Wonka to life, people of all ages and sizes around the world continue to find joy, laughter and inspiration in his plays.”“Gene had an amazing ability to bring humor, wonder and heart into people’s lives, and the connection has been there for generations,” he continued, adding that the upcoming show hopes to celebrate the joy and emotion the actor brought to the game. Additionally, the show aims to bring the magic of the 1971 classic to a new generation and honor the fans who have poured love into the film over the years. The original show will feature Rusty Goffe, who portrayed Oompa Loompa in the film, reprising his role during the crisis.
