Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) MP on Tuesday proposed madras high court Oppose the alleged use of educational institutions to politically glorify Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. The petition questions the inclusion of students in the birthday celebrations for the chief minister on June 22.This comes after a birthday function organized by the Government High School in Sotapuram in Namakkal district was criticized for the treatment of students.According to a previous report by The Times of India, Sowthapuram panchayat union deputy general secretary “Thalapathi” Surya announced that gold coins will be given to the top players of grades 10 and 12 as part of Vijay’s birthday celebrations.However, the incident was said to have caused inconvenience to students. A teacher who asked not to be named said students waited for more than an hour under the scorching sun, with many sitting on the ground because there was not enough space.The controversy came just days after School Education Minister Rajmohan warned party workers not to disturb students during class hours or shoot film on campus.
