New Delhi: Esha Singh Two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker completed a memorable event for India as she won the women’s 25m pistol title with a brilliant performance at the ISSF World Cup in Hangzhou on Monday as two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker added a bronze medal.The victory marked India’s first gold medal at this World Cup and further solidified its credentials in Hangzhou. Elsa, who set a world record in the event earlier this year, finished on the podium in the final with a score of 40 out of 50 points.The 21-year-old remained in control throughout the match, finishing three points ahead of China’s Zhang Yueyue, who took silver with a 37. Aisha found her rhythm in both stages of the finals before emerging victorious in the elimination round.Manu Bhaker also returned to the podium after winning bronze in the same event. The Indian shooter defeated North Korea’s Park Hyun Kyung in a tense doubles match to finish third with 28 points, ensuring India has two medals in the women’s 25m pistol event.Esha’s latest win continues an impressive season for the Hyderabad-based striker, who set a new world record at the ISSF World Cup in Munich earlier this year. Now she has added another important international title to her ever-growing list of achievements.The two podium finishes also take India’s medal tally in Hangzhou to three. Earlier, Syam won the silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event.With Esha’s gold and two silver and bronze medals, India climbed to second place in the medal tally behind hosts China, which continues to lead the medal tally with 14 gold medals, including six.
