Marking the fourth revision of the story, the upcoming services are trying to recreate magic in a modern culture, appropriate after it was written almost 50 years ago. ‘Carrie’: Plot and reimagining
According to the official synopsis, the series is “a bold and timely take on the story of Carrie White, a high school senior who lives alone with her domineering mother,” according to Variety. The source continued, “After the sudden and unexpected death of her father, Carrie finds herself struggling with the events of her high school, a bully that disrupts her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.” Mike Flanagan sees the upcoming series as a modern interpretation of the classic story. With the aim of presenting ‘reality’ and ‘motivation’, this series takes aim at how the health of young children is affected and how simple mistakes are always present. “There is no reason to try to follow those footsteps and try to walk in that way. However, the world has changed a lot,” he said on Saturday, July 25, 2026, on Deadline.

Led by Summer Howell as Carrie White, the cast includes Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy and Joel Oulette as Tommy and many others.
