‘Bhai Tera Star Hai’ Niharika NM reveals she lost film due to relationship: ‘The actress refused to work with a body double’ |
Niharika NMwho made him a producer, took his career to the world in 2023 with a guest voice in the American sitcom ‘Big Mouth Season 7’. His acting journey started last year with the Tamil film ‘Perusu’, and he acted in ‘Mithra Mandali’ and ‘Idhayam Murali’. He is now gearing up for his Bollywood debut, which is slated to hit the screens on July 30.
Niharika NM opens its first days in Bombay
The comedy film ‘Bhai Tera Star Hai’ stars Raghav Juyal in the lead, with Niharika singing as his love interest. Talking to News18 about his move into films, he recalled, “When I moved to Bombay three or four years ago, I spent three years training under a film studio.“I really wanted to do sports. I didn’t know how far it would go or what I wanted to do. All I knew was that I loved it and I enjoyed it,” he adds. However, over time, he decided to stop pursuing Bollywood and shifted his focus to do research in the southern film industry, a move he attributed to the beauty of Hindi cinema.“I tried in Hindi films first but I didn’t like the standards that were set for women – how they should look or how their skin should be. I thought it’s not an area where I should fight. It was too crowded,” says Niharika. He then inked three films with Karthik Subbaraj’s production house, Stone Bench Films.

“But during my studies with them, I rejected the best southern films that did wonders at the box office. I couldn’t believe it! I was bound by a contract. This will remain one of my biggest regrets. But I am happy for everyone who did it. And after the deal, there’s no stopping me. Then I acted as Raita in different language films,” said Niharika.

However, the journey was difficult for him. He said: “There were many reasons that prevented me from watching movies. Remembering another story, he said: “There was another movie I had to do, which was being made by this great director. I grew up watching him. They chose me. I had tested for the part. “The test appears to have been done.”“The contract was sent to my house and I signed it. There was a clause about friendship and I told them that I am not comfortable doing a computer relationship. They were fine with them and they were planning to go ahead with the body twice. But the actor was not good enough to do things with the body twice. Then it became like this or that,” adds Niharika.
