Samyo asks Dulquer Salman again
According to reports in Mathrubhumi, the customs authorities are planning to question Dulquer Salmaan again after analyzing the information he gave during the previous interrogation, which reportedly took more than seven hours. The authorities also asked the actor to submit additional documents related to the luxury cars under surveillance. The new questions are said to be part of an ongoing investigation and come after the agency reviewed its previous responses. So far, the Customs Department has not reported any wrongdoing to the player, and the investigation is still under investigation.
Four classic cars under the scanner
The investigation is being conducted under “Operation Numkhor,” a special operation set up by the Customs Preventive Department to investigate alleged illegal shipments of luxury vehicles from Bhutan to India. As part of the operation, the previous authorities seized four luxury cars associated with Dulquer Salmaan, including a Land Rover Defender, a Toyota Land Cruiser, a Nissan Patrol, and another Nissan used in one of his films. The vehicles were later released to the actor following a court order after he gave a bank guarantee. The court also ordered that the vehicles be handed over to investigators whenever needed and that they not be taken out of the state without permission.
The actor is said to have bought the cars legally
Dulquer Salmaan insisted that he was not aware of any alleged wrongdoing regarding the cars. According to reports, the actor told the Customs officials that he bought all these luxury cars legally from their previous owners in India using official documents and bank accounts. Meanwhile, the wider investigation of Operation Numkhor is targeting a group accused of importing luxury cars through false documents to evade taxes. The investigation is said to be spreading across several states including Kerala, Assam, and Rajasthan, as investigators try to find out more about the smuggling ring. The research is still ongoing, and the research organization has not made public its findings.
