The nominations for the 2026 awards revealed a surprising amount missing from the prestigious competition. Although the predicted favorites were recognized by shows such as “The Pitt” which was nominated 25 and “Hacks” which received 24 several favorites and actors were left in the selected groups especially in the upper classes.The eligibility window for this year’s awards includes shows that aired between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025. This period means that recent major releases including “House of the Dragon” Season 3, “All Year After,” and “Dutton Ranch” may not have aired episodes before the deadline or not enough, making them eligible for 2 instead.According to USA Today, the production rules also require that the shows be produced in a part of the US beloved. This requirement made the nature of “Their Rivalry” completely unworthy of consideration, since the show was produced and distributed by a Canadian service and licensed by an American platform.
Jeremy Allen White’s shocking departure

However, Paul Anthony Kelly, who received rave reviews from critics for his portrayal of JFK Jr. , failed to get the chance to be selected in the director’s team despite being pleased with his performance.
‘The Comeback’ was not included in the comedy competition
Lisa Kudrow made a successful return to the leading actress category in her series about the actress who is about to regain her fame and popularity in the industry. However, the show failed to secure a nomination in the highly competitive sports category. Nominees in the category went to “Abbott Elementary,” “Hacks,” “Margo Has Money Problems,” “Nobody Wants This,” “Homemade Killers,” “Decreasing,” and “Widow’s Bay,” leaving the show without a nominee in the top category despite Kudrow’s nomination.
‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Euphoria’ fail to crack the drama category

Both films received seven nominations, with “Euphoria” earning a directorial nomination for its star. Despite their culture and dedicated nature, none of them cut the upper class.
