The sudden illness of veteran actor Rajesh Sharma has spread anxiety in the film industry. The actor reportedly fell ill suddenly at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad while shooting for Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Fauji,’ directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, after which he went to Kolkata for treatment. Medical personnel are closely monitoring him, and his illness has sparked new discussions about workplace safety and emergency care at the movie theater.
AICWA wants a massive investigation into Rajesh Sharma’s medical emergency
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called for an immediate, transparent, and high-quality inquiry into the matter. According to IANS, the organization has also requested the intervention of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to conduct a detailed investigation into the cause of the actor’s disappearance. AICWA has questioned whether proper emergency facilities were available at the time and why the actor was not shifted to a leading hospital in Hyderabad if his condition became critical during filming. The organization also wants regulators to see if safety, hygiene, and medical procedures are followed by the manufacturing team.
The Association wants to respond with all medical assistance
AICWA states that the film industry has a legal and ethical responsibility to provide a safe working environment for artists, technicians, and staff. The agency said concerns about sanitation, hygiene, and emergency care have been repeatedly reported at several shooting sites. It also said that many workers are reluctant to speak openly about such matters for fear of being fired. If any negligence is proved, AICWA demanded accountability and asked the makers of ‘Fauji’ to pay the full cost of Rajesh Sharma’s treatment and ensure that he gets the best medical care till he recovers.
