Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Basu shared his thoughts on ‘Satluj’ and joined the ongoing controversy surrounding the film’s release, and its removal from platforms.He compared Dosanjh’s film to ‘Jafar Panahi‘, an Iranian director who experienced the same thing in his home country. He wrote, “#Satluj I never thought the day would come when Honey Trehan would experience what Jafar Panahi experienced in Iran.” He compared the situation of Honey Trehan with Panahi, a well-known official in Iran, who was abroad promoting ‘Inali Basi Ngozi’, when he was sent with a legal notice by the authorities in Tehran. According to the BBC, he was sentenced to a year in prison, as well as a two-year travel ban and probation.
