The singer’s ex-wife, Brenda Harvey Richie, recently took to his X account to share about his health and how things are going. He wrote in his post, “Thank you everyone for your concern! Lionel is fine and will be back on stage.” These short updates are the first to be released online about the legend after he collapsed on his show a few days ago.
What happened to Lionel Richie
Videos of the singer went viral a few days ago while he was performing in St. Paul’s Grand Casino Arena. At first, Richie was shown sitting down on the stairs and performing after feeling a bit dizzy during his performance. He told the same crowd, “What I’ve learned from my years of work: When you feel dizzy, sit down on your ass.”He then laughed about the situation, “Now, I want you to know that this is the first time in the history of ‘Dance on the Top’ that I’m sitting down. This is a bad sign, y’all.” After that, there was a quick reaction, which was followed by saxophone player Dino Soldo walking on stage and announcing that due to health problems Richie would not be able to return to the stage.Later, his management agency told the website that the upcoming dates have been postponed to take care of the singer’s health. The statement read, “Under doctors’ orders to rest and return to good health, Lionel Richie has canceled his next two shows on Friday, June 26 in Chicago, IL and Saturday, June 27 in Columbus, OH. He and Earth, Wind & Fire will return to the stage on Tuesday, June 30 in Pittsburgh, PA.”“Lionel Richie has been on his ongoing North American tour ‘Earth, Wind & Fire.’
