Speaking in an interview about her latest film ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’, Samantha shared, “What drew me to this story, I wasn’t looking at it as a musical genre or trying to make a statement. I saw that she was this compelling character with real depth and she had a lot of potential to entertain and I think that’s really rare, especially for women in cinema.” Also, I think the scenes are not really visible and I think it’s time to stop putting women in cinema to be seen, for a dance or a song or a part, just for the sake of watching.“He added, “I think the audience has changed; they are open to new stories and they don’t ask if the hero is male or female anymore. They just want to be entertained; they want to be touched. If a character is written honestly and the story connects, people will accept it and I believe that’s where mainstream cinema is going and I’m happy to be a part of this journey.”

The film, directed by BV Nandini Reddy and produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru and Himank Reddy Duvvuru through their banner Tralala Moving Pictures, features Samantha in the lead role, together by Gulshan Devaiah and Diganth Manchale. It has received positive response from both critics and audiences, and posted a strong opening day collection of Rs 4.85 crore.
