Filmmaker SS Rajamouli received a rousing reception from fans at the famous Grand Rex in Paris, where he attended a special class and screening of his international blockbuster ‘RRR’. The director, who has been in France for promotional activities, also watched his box office hit, ‘Baahubali’ with the crowd gathered at the theater.

Addressing the audience at the iconic venue, Rajamouli expressed his admiration for theatre, saying, “For me it is the most beautiful theater in the world.” He then recalled his first trip to the theater and said that he still remembers little things.

The event saw him sit down with the host for a Q and A session, where he shared his love for cinema, reflected on his memorable meeting with director James Cameron and also revealed how his film ‘Eega’ was inspired by ‘TOY STORY’.The director addressed the audience and shared his beliefs about the ability of film to transcend language and cultural barriers. “Art is one of the most powerful ways to bring people together. I’m an Indian filmmaker who speaks Telugu and I don’t know much about French culture… yet all these people are here to see my film. It’s beautiful,” he said.During the master’s course, Rajamouli recalled how he interacted with Cameron, “I was starry-eyed just looking at him. He was talking about how he watched RRR twice. We also talked about AI, a topic that scares me. He said AI will never enter the film industry, which I found encouraging. “At the event, Rajamouli was also asked if the film “Toy Story” inspired his film “Eega”. In order for this to happen, he simply said, “No.”

Rajamouli also used the opportunity to promote his upcoming film, ‘Varanasi’.
