‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ have changed the way Hindi cinema is viewed. So much so, that a large section of the audience is comparing every movie to this one Aditya Dhar controller because a new symbol is set. A veteran filmmaker Sanjay Gupta praised director Aditya Dhar for maintaining his vision while making ‘Dhurandhar’, revealing that the actor refused to take shortcuts despite facing challenges over the years. Sharing his reaction on X (formerly Twitter), Gupta recounted a conversation with a team member who witnessed Dhar’s unwavering commitment throughout the film’s journey.According to Sanjay, a member of the ‘Dhurandhar’ team spoke about how Aditya remained steadfast in every phase of the project, right from production to post-production. Sharing the anecdote, he wrote, “Yesterday I met a member of the Dhurandar crew, who watched Aditya Dhar fight for his vision every day of production, shooting & delivery. There are no shortcuts. It was passion vs. That’s the difference. Filmmaking is not about ‘SHOOTING-SHOOTING’.Earlier, in an appearance on the ‘InControversial Podcast’, Sanjay opened up about the efforts that went into bringing ‘Dhurandhar’ to life. He revealed that Aditya had spent almost four years in the development of the project before it was ready.“It is clear that Aditya Dhar was inspired by the filmmakers of the 80s and 90s. I can clearly see what those influences are and that style of the world. There is no doubt that Aditya Dhar is a very talented filmmaker. But having said that, he spent four years trying to put this project together. That’s how difficult it was to make this film or not.Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay DuttR. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sarah Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in important roles. The drama turned out to be a huge commercial success, earning around ₹ 1,306 crore worldwide at the box office, according to Sacnilk.
