Janhvi Kapoor signed her next big film, a month after the ‘Peddi’ controversy, teaming up with Pagglait director Umesh Bist for the first time. Meanwhile, the actress is yet to respond to the ‘Peddi’ row, in which a section of netizens criticized her character, Achiyamma, accusing her producers of criticizing her.
Janhvi Kapoor’s new film supported by Balaji and Sikhya
According to Variety India, Janhvi’s upcoming project is still untitled as of now. The film will be produced by Ekta Kapoor‘s Balaji Motion Pictures alongside Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, is a film slated to go on floors in October-November this year. Details of the story, genre and cast are yet to be revealed.
Umesh Bist also directed ‘Pagglait 2’ along with Janhvi Kapoor’s movie
Meanwhile, Umesh Bist will also serve as director on ‘Pagglait 2’, the sequel to the 2021 Netflix hit, and Sanya Malhotra is expected to return as Sandhya, continuing the story where the first film left off.

Due to this controversy, director Buchi Babu Sana apologized and dropped the controversial scenes from the film. The line was also modeled after many celebrities, including Jaya Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nithya Menen, Jagapathi Babu and Dimple Hayathimany of them wanted to see well-written women change and a big change in the way women are portrayed in most movies.
