Anupam Kher confirmed as Jatayu’s voice
As per an Instagram post from the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, Kher has given his voice to Jatayu in the film. “Veteran actor Anupam Kher has been confirmed as the voice of Jatayu in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The announcement ends months of speculation that Amitabh Bachchan will voice the legendary bird who fights Ravana while trying to save Sita. Jatayu’s battle with Ravana is expected to be one of the most powerful sequences of the film. Director Nitesh Tiwari is said to have portrayed this event as a big moment for the movie, Anupam Kher’s voice has been set to bring the legendary character to life on screen,” read the post.

In the film, Sunny Deol plays the role of Hanuman, with music composed by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. While the first release of ‘Ramayana’ is slated to hit theaters in Diwali 2026, the second installment is expected to follow Diwali 2027.
