Singer and former Bigg Boss 14 contestant Jaan Kumar Sanu has been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19. The singer shared the news with fans on Sunday through a video recorded from his hospital bed, choosing humor to break the news.Jaan, who is the son of a veteran musician Kumar SanuHe did not say when his symptoms started or how long he is expected to be under medical supervision.Sharing the video on social media, Jaan wrote, “China will live again 🦇 Covid ko salaam karo.”He also joked about being in the hospital, writing, “Fit check – Wearing my favorite designer: Kokilaben. Entered: COVID from Wuhan.”The lighthearted post prompted an outpouring of support from fans and industry colleagues.Although Jaan maintained a cheerful tone in her post, the video confirmed that she is receiving treatment at a hospital instead of recovering at home. According to reports, health officials have found eight active cases in YSR Kadapa district in recent weeks. Two patients who were diagnosed with the disease reportedly died while receiving treatment.After recent cases, local authorities have increased surveillance and deployed emergency response teams to collect samples from affected areas. Reports indicate that around 40 samples were collected, of which 18 were found to be negative, while the rest are expected.Some samples have also been sent to a laboratory in Pune for genome sequencing to identify the mutation and better understand its transmission.Health officials have advised people not to panic but to continue to follow precautionary measures, including wearing masks in crowded places, keeping hands clean and seeing a doctor if symptoms of COVID develop.Further updates on Jaan Kumar Sanu’s health are awaited.
