New Delhi: India’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh is about to be sanctioned and the proposed three-match T20 series against Afghanistan may be postponed to accommodate the schedule. According to the proposed schedule being circulated internally, India is scheduled to face Afghanistan on September 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.According to reliable sources, discussions are ongoing to postpone the start of the short series to September 17 so that there would be enough time for a short tour of Bangladesh after the Sri Lanka Test. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is keen to host a six-match white-ball series in September. Earlier this month, BCB sold its television and digital media rights. This comes a week after India resumed issuing tourist visas to Bangladeshi citizens, nearly two years after it suspended the issuance of tourist visas in 2024 following political unrest in Bangladesh.“We are very hopeful about this tour. We have not received the green signal from the authorities yet BCCIbut they didn’t say they wouldn’t come either. Therefore, we hope to get a positive response from BCCI as soon as possible. ” a senior BCB official told this website.Sources close to BCB’s newly elected chairman said Tamim Iqbalsaid the former Bangladesh captain returned from the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland with some positive signs.The series was originally scheduled to air last year but was delayed due to political tensions between the two countries.After being appointed as BCB director, Tamim told TimesofIndia.com that he is hopeful about the show.“There is a series against India later this year. I very much hope that India will come and play this series. This is a bilateral series that the people of Bangladesh will love to watch.
