Game of Thrones star Lena Headey has opened up about a disturbing double encounter with a former Hollywood disgrace Harvey Weinsteinrevealing that the hotel room key card was missing, prevented what he feared could be worse.Speaking to the Radio Times, the actress, best known for playing Cersei Lannister in the HBO fantasy drama, recalled her first encounter with Weinstein while promoting the 2005 film The Brothers Grimm in Venice.Headey said Weinstein tried to kiss her while walking, but she immediately refused.“Harvey and I went for a walk, and he tried to kiss me, and I was like drunk and young and I didn’t give two s-ts. But I thought, ‘You’re 52.’ And I told him to sew,” he said.According to Headey, Weinstein sent her flowers the next day and apologized.
‘My whole body shut down’
The actress said she met Weinstein again six months later at a breakfast meeting, where he invited her to a video screening before asking her to come to his hotel room to discuss the script.“I’ll give you the notes, come to my room,” Weinstein says.Headey said he immediately noticed something was wrong as he entered the elevator.“And we went upstairs, and when we got in, I just knew, and my whole body shut down,” he recalls.“I said, ‘I think you think I want more than friendship, and I’m not interested.’According to Headey, Weinstein led her to her hotel room despite her refusal.“He took me, actually, to his room. He was so big.”She said things changed when Weinstein’s key fob repeatedly failed to unlock the door.“His PIN didn’t work. After trying repeatedly with the card and locking the door, he took me downstairs and said, ‘Don’t say anything to anyone.’Headey said he broke down after leaving the hotel.“I got in my car and just cried. And he didn’t give me any of his movies.”
Mr. Weinstein also commented on his appearance
Headey also said Weinstein criticized her appearance early in her career.“And he even told me to straighten my teeth with Harvey Weinstein,” she said, adding that he also forced her to get Botox on her forehead when she was still in her 20s.

The actress discussed her experiences while promoting her new BBC Radio 4 series Intimacy, an eight-part drama she wrote and directed.As for the entertainment industry, Headey said he wanted the series to explore what he described as Hollywood’s “vicious cycle.”“Most of the people in the room are men,” she said. “Many men who don’t like women end up in our industry. Now they have the power and it’s time to put us in our place. They’re men, aren’t they?”Weinstein, one of Hollywood’s most famous producers, was found guilty and is currently being held at Rikers Island in New York. Many actresses have publicly accused her of sexual misconduct since her allegations sparked the #MeToo movement in 2017.
