Fresh off the blockbuster success of the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise, the actor is now gearing up for his next film, ‘Pralay’, as he prepares to welcome his second child with his wife. Deepika Padukone.Ranveer is expected to start shooting for the director Jai Mehta‘s ‘Pray’ in August, according to a report by Variety India. The actor is expected to continue shooting till Diwali, after which he will reportedly take paternity leave in mid-November to spend with his growing family. The second schedule of the movie is said to resume in 2027.‘Pralay’ is a zombie thriller and marks Ranveer’s first foray into the genre. Although the producers have not talked about the plot and the sponsors, the project has already created a buzz among the movie lovers.Earlier, Pinkvilla had revealed that a major portion of the film will be shot in Australia. “Ranveer will start shooting for Jai Mehta’s documentary in the second half of 2026. The shooting is planned in Australia, and he has already started preparing. This is a film that requires a lot of physical and mental preparation, given the size and color,” the source told the entertainment portal.On the personal front, Ranveer and Deepika are planning to expand their family. The couple, who married in 2018, gave birth to daughter Dua in September 2024 and have reportedly kept her out of the public eye. They announced that they were expecting their second child in April this year through a social media post.Deepika is currently in the third trimester of her pregnancy. Ranveer’s decision to take a break from work later this year is said to reflect his desire to be with his family on the arrival of their second child.
