DU UG Admissions 2026: Over 2.73 lakh people registered on CSAS portal; over 2.06 lakh people submitted preferences
Over 2.73 lakh applicants have registered for undergraduate admission to Delhi University (DU) for the academic year 2026-27, out of which over 2.06 lakh candidates have completed the course and college preference filling process under the Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS-UG). The university will release the first seat allocation list on July 16 after the preference editing window closes on July 13.The admission data shows that a total of 2,73,751 candidates registered on the CSAS-UG portal and 2,18,284 candidates completed the registration process. Of these, 2,06,835 applicants submitted their course and university preferences before the deadline for the second phase. Female candidates made up a larger share of the registrations with a total of 1,20,509 applicants as against 97,775 male candidates.
Preference editing open until July 13th
Delhi University released the mock rankings on July 12, providing an indicative estimate of candidates’ ranking based on their CUET-UG 2026 results and the course and university preferences submitted by them.Candidates have until 4:59 pm on July 13 to modify or rearrange their preferences. After the deadline expires, preferences will be locked into the first round of seat allocation, scheduled to be announced on July 16.
BCom (Hons) course remains the most popular course
Preference data shows that business and humanities programs continue to dominate applicant selection this year. Candidates must map the subjects studied in Class 12 with the relevant CUET-UG paper before selecting the eligible course and college combination.The ten most popular courses are: BCom (Hons), BCom, BA (Hons) English, BA (Hons) Politics, BA History and Politics, BA (Hons) History, BSc (Hons) Zoology, Mathematics, BA (Hons) Life Sciences and BA (Hons) Economics
67 universities offer admissions
The university is conducting enrollment in 73 undergraduate programs and over 100 bachelor’s degree program portfolios in 67 faculties. Admission will be based solely on CUET-UG 2026 merit and subject to course-specific eligibility criteria laid down by the university.Candidates allotted seats in the first round must accept the allotment within the notified time. The university will verify the documents before granting admission, after which candidates will have to pay the stipulated fee to confirm their seats. Further allocation of vacant seats will be made as per the school admissions plan.The school is also conducting the third round of admissions according to the CSAS-PG process and candidates will complete admission and other admission procedures according to the revised schedule.(Inputs from PTI)
