'Dragon House' Season 4 script completed; Showrunner Ryan Condal shares a big update on the FINAL chapter of the fantasy epic

‘Dragon House’ has fans who have been affected by the war and bloodshed of season 3, but according to the latest reports, the producers are nearing the end of the saga. Showrunner Ryan Condal revealed that the writing team has finished writing the fourth and final season of the show and will begin submitting the original script to HBO.Speaking on the Scriptnotes podcast, Condal shared that the production team is now delivering the first draft of Season 4 to the network as development continues on the final installment of the Game of Thrones prequel. According to reports, Season 4 is expected to conclude the story of the Targaryen civil war, known as Dance of the Dragons.During the interview, Condal also revealed that production of the final season is expected to begin in early 2027, with filming taking place in several countries.

Part 4 will complete the series

The update comes after reports previously confirmed that House of the Dragon was slated to end with four seasons. Although HBO took some time to renew a fourth season, the network has now set it as the final title, marking the end of George RR Martin’s Fire & Blood. However, at the end of this chapter, fans who have stayed with the franchise since ‘Game Of Thrones’ will just have to prepare for another disappointing end to House Targaryen.

Showcased ‘HOTD’ for 2 years in the making

Condal recently explained that the design process for House of the Dragon is still very difficult due to its size and visuals. The extensive post-production schedule, especially the creation of the show’s dragon performance and visuals, has contributed to the two-year gaps between seasons.
