‘Bad Sunny’: Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan lock horns for their ninth film after ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Haiwaan’ |

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s ninth film is titled ‘Wicked Sunny’, inspired by the famous title from Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Produced by Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films, the action thriller is written by Priyadarshan and Rohan Shankar. Filming begins in December, their eighth film Haiwaan for September 2026.

Earlier, in April 2025, reports came out Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan meeting for the third time, after working on ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Haiwaan’. Ramesh Taurani’s Direction Films is building the business. Now, in a new update, it is said that the film has closed its title.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the film has been titled ‘Wicked Sunny’. The makers believe that the title does justice to the region of the film and its director. Also, ‘Wicked Sunny’ has the power to remember. It was the name of the title played in Akshay Kumar’s ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (2004). The title remains interesting and popular even after 22 years of the film’s release. ‘Wicked Sunny’ will show Akshay in a wacky comic avatar, a stark contrast to his recent co-stars like ‘Bhooth Bangla’ and ‘Welcome To The Jungle’. Fans will be excited to watch Akshay go abroad. Moreover, the title only adds to the excitement surrounding the film.

So far, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have collaborated in seven films: ‘Hera Pheri’ (2000), ‘Garam Masala’ (2005), ‘Bhagam Bhag’ (2006), ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ (2007), ‘De Dana Dan’ (2009), ‘Khatta Meethang’ (2009) and ‘Bhoo Ba’ (2011). Their upcoming film ‘Haiwaan’ will mark their eighth collaboration, with ‘Wicked Sunny’ being their ninth. ‘Haiwaan’, which also stars Saif Ali Khan, is slated to air on September 11, 2026.

According to a recent Mid-Day report, ‘Wicked Sunny’ is a comedy-drama written by Priyadarshan along with Rohan Shankar, the same duo behind ‘Bhooth Bangla’. The report also revealed that filming is expected to begin this December.
