Maruti Suzuki The e Vitara has increased prices for the first time since the electric SUV was launched earlier this year. While the entry-level variant remains unaffected, the price of the premium variant has been increased by up to Rs 30,000.
Maruti Suzuki and Vitara: Price hike details
The base Delta model remains priced at Rs 15.99 lakh ex-showroom. However, the mid-spec Zeta variant is now priced at Rs 17.49 lakh, an increase of Rs 30,000. The price of the top-end Alpha version has also been revised and is currently priced at Rs 19.79 lakh ex-showroom, which is an increase of Rs 20,000 from the previous price.Maruti Suzuki is also offering the e Vitara through its Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan. Under the scheme, the Delta model will be priced at Rs 10.99 lakh and the battery rental fee will be Rs 3.99 per km. The Zeta and Alpha versions are currently priced at Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 14.29 lakh respectively, with a battery subscription fee of Rs 4.39 per km. e Vitara has two battery packs to choose from. The Delta trim comes with a 49 kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor producing 142 hp and 193 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki claims a driving range of 440 km on a full charge. Zeta and Alpha models come with a larger 61 kWh battery pack. These versions produce 172 horsepower and 193 Nm of torque, with a claimed range of up to 543 kilometers. The e Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s first car in the mass-market electric SUV segment and competes with the likes of Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
