In an interview with IGN, Yash joined the stars Ranbir Kapoordirector Nitesh Tiwari, and producer Namit Malhotra. Talking about taking Ravana, he said, “We are a child, we have all heard this story. (It is) probably the first story I have heard. My grandfather used to tell me these stories. You have your thoughts and you have seen many people portray this in many ways. So what do you bring as an actor, and your understanding of the character was difficult. Fortunately, my director and the writers gave me the space to play this character in a different way.Yash also admitted that the weight of previous shows adds pressure to his performance. He added, “If you know the character and everyone knows it, then it’s difficult. If it’s a new film where you’re telling a new story, whatever you’re doing, it will become a culture. But if people have an image of it because many people have played it in different ways, then it’s very difficult for an actor. They will love it.”

‘Ramayana’ remains one of the oldest plays in the world, having been adapted into movies, TV shows, and musicals countless times in India. Some of his best screen roles are the Telugu version NT Rama Rao in the 1960s and Arvind Trivedi’s performance in the 1988 television series.
