Actor Yash has given his praises ‘Ramayana‘star Ranbir Kapoorsaying that people will witness a “beautiful Rama” when the much-awaited epic hits the theaters this Diwali.Speaking at the ‘Ramayana’ panel at the San Diego Comic-Con in the US on Thursday, the actor, who plays Ravana in the Nitesh TiwariBased on Indian history, he praised the dedication of an artist for portraying this character with dignity and devotion.

Reflecting on Ranbir’s approach to playing Lord Rama, Yash said, “Nobody in this world can come and say, ‘I have the virtue to play Lord Rama’. The fact that he (Ranbir) said, ‘I can’t do it’, says it all.”Yash went on to praise Ranbir’s dedication to the role, “He is an amazing actor. It is not easy to play Lord Rama, and the way he worked, a big credit to him. He is a very interesting actor. He has worked very hard, and when you watch Ramayana, you will see a beautiful Ramayana, with great intention and great dedication.”

Yash is playing Ravana
Before taking on the lead role, Yash, in an interview with Rama’s Screen, explained the challenges of portraying Ravana, one of the biggest and most difficult antagonists of Indian mythology. He said, “Well, it was fun. The hard part is because it’s a story that everyone knows, and it’s a story that’s been told in many ways. So many people have done small plays from the small village to television to movies in every regional language. People have been playing this character. To play it in a special way and make it seem real and it was very different from its own way.”Explaining what the audience can expect, Yash teased his version of Ravana, saying, “I think I have tried something that will be very interesting to people.”
‘Ramayana’ released and released a day
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film is slated to be released in two parts, with the first part hitting theaters on Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in 2027.
