Maruti Brezza’s Bharat NCAP scores revealed! How did it perform?

Maruti SuzukiThe upcoming Brezza facelift has received a five-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash test. The model scored highly for both adult and child occupant protection, with safety enhancements made ahead of launch. Although the evaluation was conducted using the ZXI+ 1.5-litre 6AT version, the results apply to all variants. In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) test, the Brezza scored 30.41 out of 32 points. In the front-offset deformable barrier test, it scored 14.41 out of 16 points; in the side movable deformable barrier test, it scored a perfect 16 out of 16 points. In frontal crash testing, the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet were rated as well protected, while the chest and shins were rated as providing adequate protection. For front-seat passengers, all key body areas are well protected except for the shins, which were rated adequate. The compact SUV also performed well in side-impact ratings. Both the side removable guardrails and side bar crash tests provided good protection for the occupants’ head, chest, abdomen and pelvis, while the side bar crash evaluation received an “OK” conclusion.In terms of Child Occupant Protection (COP), the Brezza scored 43 points out of 49 points, earning another five-star rating. It achieved a perfect score of 24 out of 24 points in the dynamic crash test and a perfect 12 out of 12 points for child restraint system (CRS) installation. The vehicle evaluation score is 7 out of 13 points. Crash tests were conducted on 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies using rear-facing child restraint systems. The strong protection for young passengers was highlighted by a maximum score of eight points for two child occupants in the front crash test and four points in the side crash test.
