Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal going back and forth appears in two works together. First ‘The Odyssey’, and now, in a few days, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. In one of their recent interviews, Holland explained what it was like working with ‘The Punisher’ actor for the first time, and how the actor got along with everyone.

The two stars recently joined the popular ‘Hot Ones’ show to promote ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’ During their interview while talking about the films, Holland also weighed in on what it was like to work on the two films with Bernthal, and how their first experience working together on set was for him. The two last shared the screen in ‘Pilgrimage’, which was released in 2017.Speaking about filming the project, Holland revealed that Bernthal took a different approach. His character in the film was mute, so to get into his character’s personality, Jon couldn’t speak, Holland revealed. The actor also explained, “I was his best friend in the film. And like three or four weeks before we started filming, we became best friends.”She also said, ‘We were talking and all of a sudden he’s like, ‘Listen, dog. I have to do this. I don’t speak. I’m going all the way. I’m not doing it. I need your help. I have to lean on your shoulder.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, whatever, man.’ Like, if that’s what you want to do, that’s what you want to do.’” He then said that for the next two weeks, Bernthal became committed to his goal, and avoided speaking at all, even in public.Laughing at the story, Holland explained that at the time, he was filming in Ireland, and the co-star would continue his acting career even before the set. He added, “And we all know Jon Bernthal. We all love Jon Bernthal. My man loves to talk. So we’re sitting in restaurants and he’s writing his food, and this is a restaurant all the time in Ireland, and I have to be like, ‘I’m sorry for my friend. He’s just an actor.’

How Jon Bernthal stopped his moves in his tracks

Holland then offered insight into what led Bernthal to leave his acting career, sharing that it was a successful incident at the restaurant that forced the ‘Punisher’ actor to quit his volunteer job. To give more details, Holland said, ‘Then one day we were in a restaurant, and he had fish and he wrote, ‘Would you like some lemon for my fish.’ So I said to the woman, ‘Excuse me, can you give me some lemons so that he can eat his fish?’ And maybe he didn’t hear me well or something. He came and brought this lemon and threw it in his drink, in his water. So immediately he said, ‘Okay, f*** it.’ I’m talking again.’”On the job, Bernthal and Holland will be sharing the screen in the upcoming blockbuster movie, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which is scheduled to be released on July 31. This will be the first film of The Punisher since Bernthal entered the MCU and took on the role of the character.
